Long Island's Best School Districts 2020: New Rankings
Of the top 10 school districts in New York, 6 are on Long Island, Niche.com says. See all the districts that made the top 100 list.
LONG ISLAND, NY - Long Island dominates a list released by Niche.com of the best school districts in the state for the 2019-2020 school year.
The list was released Monday August 5, 2019 as part of the website's 2020 K-12 rankings.
Each New York district received a letter grade in the following categories: academics; diversity; teachers; college prep; clubs & activities; health & safety; administration; sports; food; and resources & facilities.
To arrive at the rankings, Niche looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data, and ratings collected from Niche users. (You can read more about the methodology here.)
Out of the top 10 school districts in New York, six are from Long Island.
The top-ranked school district in New York is Great Neck. Niche gave Great Neck an A+ in all categories except for diversity (A-).
